Every employee who is qualified to vote shall, while the polls are open on polling day at an election, have three consecutive hours for the purpose of voting.

If working hours are such that an employee does not have the required three consecutive hours available to vote before commencement of his/her shift, or at the completion of a shift, the employee may request and the employer is required to provide the additional time off.

Such time off should be at a time convenient to the employer.

There will be no deduction from the employee’s pay or impose upon or exact from the employee any penalty for such time off.
