OPSEU LOCAL 331: REPRESENTING THE INTEREST'S OF OVER 900 MEMBERS

2013 Provincial Women’s Committee Award Winner!

It gives our Local and Opseu Region 3 extraordinary pleasure to announce that this year’s winner of the Provincial Women’s Committee award is none other than Yvonne Lewis! The criteria to win this award are as follows:

A member who is in good standing and has an interest in women’s issues
An activist in her local or in the region
A member who supports and believes in the objectives of the PWC
A women involved in women’s causes in the workplace OR community OR who provides leadership and sets an example to other women.

This award identifies and acknowledges the tremendous work that Yvonne engaged in throughout the year in Region 3, and recognizes her activism in OPSEU and within her community. Always fighting for a cause, Yvonne has demonstrated extraordinary leadership that sets an example to other women and to all union workers. And she continues to do so even now as a retired Local 331 member.

The award was presented during the OPSEU Annual Convention on April 26, 2013. Due to pressing family concerns Yvonne was unable to attend the ceremony herself so the award was accepted on her behalf by Local 331 President Patti Lang.
