Bargaining
Update This bulletin is to provide an up-date on bargaining to Local 331 members. Your OPSEU Collective Bargaining Team is disappointed with the minimal movement that has occurred in the eight (8) days of bargaining which included conciliation. On September 30, 2014 the parties moved to meeting with a conciliator from the Ministry of Labour. On November 18, 2014, the Employer determined that we were at an impasse which resulted in both parties requesting a “No Board Report” from the Conciliator which brings us to our next step Mediation/Arbitration Mediation is scheduled for April 21 and 22, 2015. If the parties are not able to reach an agreement we will move to Arbitration. Details of negotiations are confidential. However, the Union’s position is that it is imperative that accurate communication surrounding the process occurs so that everyone has a clear understanding of each step in the process. We will continue to keep you up-dated as we move through the process and this will help to dispel the rumours. The team is asking for your continued support throughout the process and that you continue to police your current Collective Agreement, which remains in effect. Please be assured Local 331 executive and stewards are available to provide support to all members. You are the Union! Know your rights and your responsibilities – know your Collective Agreement. We will continue to keep you informed as we work towards reaching an agreement on your demands. Your
